Once again we have lost a beloved member of Unit 29

Aon Duhon Broussard

April 09, 1923-February 7, 2018

She was a member of Unit 29 for 43 years.

Unit 29 Dutch Treat Dinner 2015

Unit 29 held it's annual Dutch Treat Dinner on  June 4, 2015 at Golden Corral in Lafayette, LA. A good time was enjoyed by all.

Proclamation Signing for Louisiana Veteran's Christmas in July

Members of Unit 29 meet with the Mayor of Abbeville, Mark Piazza for the proclamation signing for "Louisiana Veterans Christmas in July" in the town of Abbeville.

The Military Coupon Project

Diana Callahan has recently shipped the seventh package  of shopping coupons to Military bases in other countries in the name of Unit 29. Each shipment is ten pounds of hand trimmed coupons . The coupons are collected from Unit members and friends, trimmed by Diana, and packaged in gallon zip lock packages . This shipment makes the total so far of 70 pounds. Each shipment costs $14.95 at the post office and is Diana's donation to the troops.  

This shipment was sent to Stuttgart, Germany.

Dear Ms. Callahan,


Your thoughtfulness, and that of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 29, is greatly appreciated by our military Families at United States Army Garrison Stuttgart. We received your box of coupons dated September 15, 2015, on this date.

On almost a daily basis we have Families come to the Army Community Service office to pick up coupons graciously sent by individuals and organizations in the United States. Thank you for your support of military Families overseas.
